E-Assessment Glossary
JISC,
in association with QCA and BECTA
have contracted 3Square Solutions to lead a team comprising AlphaPlus
Consultancy and Chris
Ricketts of The University of Plymouth to develop a glossary of e-assessment
terms for use by the UK education community. The project runs for 3
months, June through August 2005 and is a consultative project which seeks to
reach a broad based agreement on the terminology used throughout the UK
educational community in respect of e-assessment. For more detail click here.

Ecampus
Ecampus is a large infrastructure project in Sheffield which
will provide a technology park for 5000 employees. The mix of
small and large companies that will occupy this park will have
a complex and chaning human resources requirement for which,
it has already been identified, there is insufficient local
provision. 3Square has been working with local private and public
agencies.

Business Strategy
FDLearning is a leading provider of IT solutions for learning
and management to the UK education and public sector. Its customers
include colleges, universities, schools, local authorities,
goverment agencies and private sector training providers, including
work on flagship projects forthe University for Industry (Ufi
Ltd), Kent Adult Education Service, the Qualifications and Curriculum
Agency and regional programes such as the South Yorkshire e-Learning
Programe. 3Square is working with FDLearning, and its parent
company, Tribal Gp plc, to refine its elearning product strategy.

Intelligent Assessment Technologies Business Plan
Scottish Enterprise is Scotland's main economic development
agency. It operates a highly regarded competition for small
businesses called "who wants to be an Entrepreneur"
(http://whowantstobe.co.uk). 3Square worked with one of the
entrants, IAT (www.intelligentassessment.com) to develop their
business plan. They won the top prize of £20,000. 3Square
is continuing to work with IAT as they develop their highly
innovative assessment technology.

Project Development
John Winkley, 3Square's principal consultant, remains Commercial
Director of BTL Group and works on a number of projects with
them.

Business Development
Blackmarble is a small ICT developer working in the field of
elearning. 3Square is working with them on two projects - it
helped them to win a SMART award for development of new programming
languages for children, and is working to define a business
development strategy for its new Scarlet web learning platform.

IT Vendor Skills
3Square is helping Yorkshire Forward to manage the delivery
of IT Vendor Skills qualifications such as CCNA Microsoft MCP.
This project is designed to increase Yorkshire's capacity to
train ICT specialists by making these courses available in a
much wider range of public sector locations - colleges, universities
and learning centres.

E-Assessment Strategy
SQA awards the majority of school and college qualifications
in Scotland. 3Square is working with SQA to develop a strategy
for delivering examination services using ICT. |
